Course Information

The Grade 7 Programme at Elmwood International College delivers the Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum and is designed for learners who aim to attain the EIC Grade 7 Certificate. The programme supports multiple progression pathways, including the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) and the Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS). Through a flexible, learner-centred and culturally adaptive learning experience, students build the language proficiency, academic skills and examination readiness needed to progress to Grade 8 and beyond.

Learner-Centred Development (LCD) Programme

LCD (Any component)

Learners take 2 core subjects and select at least 1 elective. To qualify for the EIC Grade 7 Certificate, students must also participate in the EIC Learner-Centred Development (LCD) Programme. Subjects are offered at varying levels under the College’s Assessment-Based Criteria (ABC-123) methodology.

Academic Requirement

  • Completed fewer than seven years of formal education; OR any Grade 6 equivalent; OR Candidates with other qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis

  • 12 years and above.

The Learner-Centred Development Programme is based on participation and attendance and does not form part of the formal assessment. Formative assessment across the four terms is used to monitor progress and inform intervention; the summative examination carries the full assessment weighting.

Course Completion

Students must:

• Achieve a minimum of Grade D (50%) in at least three subjects;
• Achieve at least 90% attendance, and not be absent for more than 7 consecutive days without a valid reason or approval from the Head, Academic and Examinations;
• Demonstrate satisfactory participation in the EIC Learner-Centred Development (LCD) Programme
