International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS)

Course Information

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) measures the language proficiency of people who want to study or work where English is used as a language of communication. It uses a nine-band scale to clearly identify levels of proficiency, from non-use (band score 1) through to expert (band score 9). The main objective of this programme is to prepare students for the IELTS assessment. The course provides a solid grounding in the key language and skills needed for IELTS success through modules designed to cover the following IELTS assessment areas: Writing, Reading, Listening and Reading. The curriculum consists of foundational skills needed for the assessment areas stated above and will branch into intensive preparation for either academic or general assessment modes.

Course Duration

Full Time, 3 months, 5 weekdays, 3 hours daily, 

Full Time: 3 months, 5 weekdays, 6 hours daily (IELTS Intensive)

Part-time, 6 months, 2 weekdays, 4 hours daily

Course Admission Requirements

At least 15 years old , attain at least 40% in  Upper Secondary English Placement Exam

       3.       International student Administration fee: SG$1,000 

4.       ICA student pass processing fee: SG$135 (Payable to ICA)

Mode of Assessment

Internal Assessment:

Summative Tests will be conducted quarterly

External Assessment:

Upon completion of the course, Student can register of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) administered by British Council, Singapore.

Course Completion

Students must achieve at least 90% attendance and not be absent for more than 7 consecutive days without valid reason
